Water Conservation Tips
- Avoid washing your vehicles
- Wash full loads in your dishwasher or washing machine
- Take shorter showers
- Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth or washing hands
- Install low flow toilets, shower heads, etc.
- Check for leaky faucets, pipes or toilets
- Bathe younger children together
- Wash fruits and vegetables in a bowl of water instead of running water
- Check outdoor faucets, sprinklers and hoses for leaks or turn them off
- For bathing, plug the tub before turning the water on, then adjust temperature
- Thaw foods in the fridge instead of running water
- Teach young children to turn off faucets tightly after use
- Soaks pots and pans instead of running water over them while scrubbing them
- Avoid washing buildings
- Use leftover water or ice cubes to water plants
- Report any leaks noticed when out and about
