The Community Food Smart program is a bulk buy produce program. Each month the bag has 6 staple items (apples, oranges, bananas, onions, carrots and potatoes), other items in the bag are based on best pricing. Membership is $10 (one-time fee), and monthly is $15/bag, bags can be bought on an as needed bases, you do not have to buy each month. Payment is made to the Health Clinic by the first Wednesday of each month, and bags are delivered the Tri County Pharmasave on the second Wednesday of the month by noon. A simple application form can be filled out at Health Clinic to enroll in program.
The following website has all the details of the program, all sites within the Fredericton area that participate, as well as the dates for the year of when payment and pick up are. For March payment is due March 1st, for pick up March 8th.
