‘Community Food Smart(CFS) is a bulk buy program which allows individuals to purchase fresh produce at a reduced rate. Bags are purchased and delivered to the Tri County PharmaChoice once a month. The Fredericton Junction CFS is partnered with the Geary CFS for purchasing and packing the produce bags. Cost per yearly membership is $10.00 (due each year in January), cost per monthly produce bag is $20.00. Bags each month are packed with a variety of fruits and vegetables based off pricing and availibility, we attempt each month to include staples (apples, oranges, bananas, onions, carrots and potatoes) as well as extras that are in season.
Applications can be pick up at the Fredericton Junction Health Center (FJHC). Payment is due the first Wednesday of the month, and pick up is the second Wednesday. Re-useable produce bags need to be returned monthly.
